Okay, so I've got some Vox swag I'm still looking to get rid of and it's been far too long since I've seen Kelly, java janie, or Peachy. Plus, there are plenty of you in the Baltimore-area that I've never met and that's just a darn shame. So let's do something about it!
WHAT: Baltimore Vox Meet-Up
WHEN: Thursday, March 12th starting at 7pm
WHERE: La Marsa, 706 S. Broadway (I know this smacks of shameless self-promotion, but it's also kind of the only way I can be there too.)
WHY: Because you're dying to meet me and/or hang out with me and/or you just really want some Vox stickers.
I'll be coming up with an extra-special $3 Vox cocktail for the night and there will be some scrumptious free snacks. Plus, if we get enough of a response, I might have a special surprise for you!
[Karaoke! - So, I'm not good at keeping secrets.]
RSVP in the comments, kiddos! Thanks!
Last night, I subjected best gal pal Cestmoi to the joyous, tacky beauty of a Baltimore Christmas.
My son and Cestmoi had a great time. Maybe.
Afterward, we went to dinner at Cafe Hon.
Again. I look like a dork. But it was a lot of fun. And yes. I am holding my son's head out of the picture because he was sticking his tongue out.
Merry Christmas from Bawlmer, hon!
Okay, I know we've tried to plan this about a hundred times now, but...
I still have a bunch of Vox stuff left over from my previous attempts at gathering more than three Voxers together at any one time.
Do we want to plan something?
Check one:
Yes ___ No ___ Maybe ___
[And if you live in the Baltimore area and haven't joined the Baltimore Vox group yet, well, what are you waiting for???]
I just found a bunch of stuff leftover from my previous (slightly pathetic) attempts at a Baltimore Vox meet-up.
Third time's the charm - so who wants to meet-up? When? Where? Why?
Holla!
I was driving home from work last night and my karaoke song came on the radio. I could tell you which song it is, but then that would ruin the big surprise at the:
BALTIMORE VOX KARAOKE COMPETITION!
A few things you should know:
- It's not really a competition.
- But there will be fabulous prizes (if Vox buttons and stickers are your idea of "fabulous")!
- All are welcome, whether you want to sing or just mock those of us who do.
The floor is now open for suggestions on dates, times, and venues. Leave your ideas in the comments and we'll try to pick what works best for the majority.
NB: I'm adding this to the Baltimore Vox Group. If you haven't joined the group and you live in the Baltimore-Washington Metro area, now's your big chance to get in on the fun.
Tonight I met Kelly, Kelly's mom, and Janie for happy hour in Baltimore. They call it happy hour for a reason. It makes you happy! And luckily, the second part of the name means nothing, because it can easily last longer than an hour.
I had to start things off with a bathroom self-portrait, because that's what I do. They had really pretty flowers in the bathroom.
Before I got around to ordering a drink, Janie arrived. Janie, much like Kelly, is awesome. She was also wearing super cute red shoes. Next time, we'll have to meet on a Friday and all wear Ugly Outfits.
The internet and Vox, specifically, are really cool. Most of the friends I have made as an adult, I met through the internet. Vox has let me meet lots of cool people. Since you read their blogs, you feel like you know them. Meeting for the first time is like meeting an old friend, which is great.
I had lots of Vox swag left over from my not-so-successful Baltimore Vox Meet-Up. I brought some along to share with Kelly and Janie. I had left the mint-filled pens in the car all summer, so they were a bit melted. But everything else was still in good shape. I gave Janie a t-shirt. She promised to share photos later.
We all donned our stickers like good little Voxers and posed for photos.
Kelly's mom is very cool. She told us lots of fun facts about Kelly that we didn't know. I would share them with you, but then Kelly would probably kill me if I did. Her mom didn't even cringe when Kelly slipped and used the f-word. The f-word! In front of her mom!
What's got two thumbs and has had $10 worth of $2.50 margaritas? Kelly.
This is me trying to show my love for the $2.50 margaritas by throwing the [this is good] sign. Slight problem though, by the time I got the idea for the photo, I had already finished my margarita. Kelly let me borrow her drink for the shot, which was nice. But then I had to give it back. Not as nice (for me).
